Vanessa Reid secures acquittal for all nine offences in Modern Slavery trial

Vanessa Reid secured acquittals on all nine charges against her youth client—including charges of being concerned in the supply of cocaine and heroin and possession of multiple knives—after a trial in which her client gave lengthy evidence in his own defence.

Vanessa successfully advanced a defence under s.45 of the Modern Slavery Act, submitting that her client was a victim of exploitation.

Vanessa was instructed by Michael Gallagher of Ewings Solicitors.
