When representing bereaved families and corporate bodies, our barristers first-class court advocacy skills and delicate handling of witnesses ensures that evidence is clearly presented to the Coroner or Jury. Our barristers understand the need for sensitivity and compassion in these often emotionally charged and distressing cases.
Chambers accepts instructions on a wide range of public inquiry matters and for a variety of interested parties, including individuals, senior professionals and public officials. These cases commonly involve high volumes of documents such as investigation reports, statements and expert evidence. Members of Chambers are also instructed as ‘Counsel to the Inquiry’ to advise on legal matters, undertake disclosure review and both prepare for and question witnesses at the inquiry’s public hearings.
The primary purpose of public inquiries is, according to the government who convenes them, is to ‘prevent recurrence’. Our barristers have a forensic and astute approach to examining the evidence to identify key issues and potential concerns, making them suitable for instruction on the most complex of inquiries.
