Probationary Tenancy

Mountford Chambers is inviting applications for Probationary Tenancy from candidates who want to develop their practice at a busy, supportive and friendly set.

Probationary Tenants can expect to benefit from: participation in an unparalleled advocacy programme; involvement in all Chambers events; opportunities to raise their profile through articles; and scope to develop a varied and sustainable practice.

In addition to having a Supervisor, our Probationary Tenants are allocated a junior member of Chambers (under 7 years call) to help them find their feet with us and to provide support throughout.

Any prospective Probationary Tenant is encouraged to contact any of our junior members – in particular recent pupils and/or ‘third sixes’ – if they have any questions. These enquiries will be treated with complete confidence. Please contact Orla O’Sullivan if you would like to be put in touch with a junior member of Chambers.

Chambers is working towards making the Bar accessible to all – we encourage applications from candidates from all backgrounds, especially those underrepresented at the Bar.

All applications will be treated in the strictest confidence.

Our Probationary Tenancy Recruitment Policy can be found here.

Our Transition to Tenancy Policy can be found here.

Applications can be made by CV and Covering Letter to our Senior Clerk, Ben Heaviside or our Head of Chambers, Chris Henley KC.
