Chris Henley KC‘s client was today acquitted of murder and manslaughter following a six week trial at Woolwich Crown Court. It was alleged that MC, a drill rapper, was part of a gang who chased a rival gang member through the streets of central Brixton before cornering him and stabbing him to death 35 times.
MC was identified on cctv as part of the group who had followed SK across Brixton Road.
The Judge excluded drill lyrics and the YouTube video which the prosecution had argued amounted to a confession.
Chris was leading Stella Harris from Garden Court Chambers and was instructed by Sonia Weaver at SGK Solicitors.
