Chris Henley KC and Mark Watson secure not guilty of murder and manslaughter verdicts for Chelsea Powell, a 22 year old mother of two, at Truro Crown Court. Ms Powell was alleged to have joined in a fatal knife attack on a man outside a night club in Bodmin.
Jake Hill was convicted of murdering Mike Riddiough-Allen, and a further defendant, Tia Taylor pleaded guilty to manslaughter part way through the trial, a plea which was accepted by the prosecution. Chelsea Powell was alleged to have assisted Hill in retrieving a combat knife from a hedge outside the Eclipse night club, before joining in the attack. Mrs Justice Cutts presided over the trial which lasted 6 weeks.
