Zayd Ahmed successfully defended his client, X, against an attempted murder charge.
From the outset, Zayd was instructed to represent X and played a pivotal role throughout the proceedings. He meticulously drafted a comprehensive and detailed defence statement, procured psychiatric and psychological reports, and requested disclosure of critical phone evidence that ultimately supported the defence’s case. His precise legal submissions on the elements required to substantiate the charge led the Crown, by the second day of the trial, to confirm that they would no longer pursue the attempted murder allegation.
The defendant was also acquitted unanimously of possession of a firearm with intent to endanger life and possession of a firearm with intent to cause fear of violence.
The case centred on a shooting incident where the complainant was lured to a location and accosted by two individuals, one of whom carried a firearm and shot the complainant.
Zayd Ahmed is a highly regarded criminal defence barrister with a proven track record of handling serious and complex cases. Known for his client-centred approach and unwavering commitment to justice, Zayd has represented clients in a wide range of challenging trials.
In this matter, Zayd was instructed by Shahid Khan and Muhini Choudhury of Advicewise Solicitors.
