Zayd Ahmed has been successful in an application to dismiss at Southwark Crown Court for his lay client who was charged with assaulting an emergency worker.
Zayd had applied to dismiss the case on the basis of the officer’s unlawfulness and the defendant’s actions having been entirely lawful.
Having considered the arguments, the Crown did not oppose the application and the charges were dismissed.
Zayd was also successful in making representations at Snaresbrook Court for a client charged with assaulting an emergency worker.
Zayd made representations that the complainant suffered mental health issues and so it was not in the public interest to prosecute her. The Crown confirmed it would be offering no evidence against her.
Zayd demonstrates he is able to challenge the crown at all stages of the proceedings.
Zayd was instructed by Rajesh Bhamm at Tank Jowett Solicitors and Shahid Khan at AdviceWise Solicitors.
