Zayd Ahmed secures not guilty verdict in a case concerning the supply of cocaine

17/09/2024

Zayd Ahmed was instructed to represent the defendant charged with supplying cocaine.

The case relied heavily on forensic evidence and phone analysis, with the prosecution’s case strengthened by the testimony of a seasoned drugs expert. The expert asserted that the quantities and packaging of the drugs found clearly indicated an intent to distribute cocaine.

However, on the day of the trial, Zayd successfully demonstrated that the drugs expert lacked the necessary knowledge to determine whether the messages found on the device attributed to the defendant related to the supply of cocaine.

As a result, the Crown reconsidered its position and confirmed that it would offer no evidence. The judge then formally entered a verdict of not guilty.

Zayd was instructed by Dominic Morel of Bark and Co Solicitors.
