Allen Morgan, 73, and Margaret Morgan, 74, have denied any involvement into the death of Carol Morgan 42 years ago, which is set to face trial on 9th April.
On 13th August,1981, Carol was found dead in her shop, Morgan’s Store, in Leighton Buzzard, Bedfordshire. Over 40 years later, a cold case unit accused the couple of conspiracy to murder, something they pleaded not guilty to during an appearance at Luton Crown Court before being released on bail.
Police have said that Carol Morgan died after being repeatedly struck with a sharp and heavy weapon at her shop on Finch Crescent in Linslade. The couple were arrested in July 2023, following the reopening of cold case inquiry in 2018 by Bedfordshire, Cambridgeshire and Hertfordshire Major Crime Unit.
Defendant, Allen Morgan is represented by Colin Aylott KC and William England from Mountford Chambers.
They have been instructed by solicitor Josie Sonnessa of Horsman Solicitors.
