Stephanie Panchkowry successfully applied for the dismissal of a count on the indictment that alleged her client had been involved in the attempted murder of a man he attacked and facially disfigured with a knife.
Despite the Judge’s clear indication that the application to dismiss would not succeed due to the strength of the case against Stephanie’s client, including his admission on causation, a strategic decision was made to proceed with the application. The application focused on the lack of mens rea.
The defendant stands trial in March 2026 on the alternative count of wounding with intent.
Stephanie was instructed by Karamjit Singh of Holborn Law.
