Stephanie Panchkowry successfully defended her client in a 7 count indictment containing serious allegations of domestic violence and criminal damage against his ex-partner over a 3 month period.
It was alleged that the defendant had attacked the complainant on multiple occasions, strangling her and causing ABH injuries, in addition to damaging various items in the property, including with the use of a knife.
The defence case was that the complainant made up the allegations to get the defendant out of their shared property. Cross-examination centred on accusing the complainant of tampering with the evidence, deleting various voice notes from the hundreds provided to the defence and editing videos provided to the police.
After a 5 day trial, the jury unanimously acquitted the defendant on all 7 counts.
Stephanie was instructed by Katie Kipps of Murray Hughman Solicitors.
