09/08/2023

Rachel Pain secured unanimous acquittals for a defendant charged with threats to kill, battery, and theft following a three-day trial at Reading Crown Court.

The defendant was alleged to have threatened the complainant with a knife during a physical attack, following which he was alleged to have stolen their bank card.

The allegations were denied and a number of inconsistencies in the complainant’s account were exposed through cross-examination.

The jury returned not guilty verdicts on all counts.

Rachel was instructed by Sarah Rimmer and Clare Dickson at MMA Solicitors.
