On Thursday 13th March, we were delighted to participate in the pupillage advocacy event at Inner London Crown Court. The event was organised by 5KBW in collaboration with Red Lion Chambers, 2 Bedford Row, 5 Paper Buildings, 2 Harcourt Buildings and Mountford Chambers.
We were fortunate to have access to two courtrooms, where a range of exercises took place, including breaches, applications and sentencing hearings. The pupils completed these exercises presided over by HHJ Rosina Cottage KC.
The level of advocacy demonstrated by all the pupils was outstanding, showcasing the impressive skills of these aspiring barristers as they developed their advocacy expertise.
Our thanks go to the resident of Inner London Crown Court for hosting, organisers from the sets as well as members of Chambers involved: Orla O’Sullivan, Alexandra Scott, Fiona Clegg, Benjamin Brown, Chloe Birch, Silas Lee, Georgia-Mae Chung, Chloe Lennon, and Charley Weldrick. Your support has been invaluable to the pupils.
Our pupils, Anjelica Smerin, Anna Wright and Oscar Robins will commence their second six on Monday 31st March. We wish them all the best of luck.
