R v RW, Staines Magistrates’ Court [2026]

A successful application to exclude the statement of a police officer pursuant to s.78 PACE 1984 following multiple PACE Code D breaches led the Crown to offer no evidence in relation to two driving offences.

R v JS, Medway Youth Court [2026]

Acquittal of a youth diagnosed with autism and ADHD accused of an assault by beating, having originally been arrested for a sexual offence on a stranger.

R v CHF, Willesden Magistrates’ Court [2026]

Represented a vulnerable defendant charged with assault by beating using a baseball bat in the domestic context. The case required careful navigation of evidence given in relation to historic allegations between the parties to avoid the admission of bad character evidence. The defendant was found ‘not guilty’.

R v MDL, Wimbledon Magistrates’ Court [2026]

Instructed to represent a defendant charged with threatening neighbours with a knife. Following a non-defendant bad character application, the complainant was cross-examined as to the nature of the threat, resulting in the bench acquitting the client as a result of exposed inconsistencies.

R v AH, Romford Magistrates’ Court [2026]

Defendant acquitted of careless driving and a public order offence. The Crown relied on the live evidence of three police officers, CCTV evidence and photographs of the client swearing at the officers while driving 70mph on the motorway.
