2023 R v YY (Woodgreen Crown Court)
A 3-week trial involving allegations of rape and serious violence. The defendant was a homeless man who lived in a tent in a busy part of London where he was well known.
2023 R v RF (Winchester Crown Court)
The defendant was charged with threats to kill a judge (sitting at the central family court) and other malicious communications offences (against his ex-partner and her barrister). The background to the offences involved the defendant’s failed application for contact with his child.
2023 R v MB and another (Luton Crown Court)
Led junior in a case involving multi-generational sexual abuse allegations against seven complainants.
2023 R v DC and another – (Snaresbrook Crown Court).
Represented the second defendant in an historic sex case. The defendant was the complainant’s grandmother. She was charged with encouraging or assisting the commission of one or more offences, believing one or more would be committed. There was an extensive history of previous allegations of sexual misconduct within the family, with associated voluminous social services material to consider.
2022 R v AG (Woodgreen Crown Court)
A case where both defendant and complainant were deaf and involving a substantial s.41 argument.
2022 R v TG and others (Harrow Crown Court)
Leading junior in an 8-week trial involving conspiracies to kidnap, falsely imprison and blackmail. The defendant was 17 years old at the time of the offences and 18 at trial.
2022 R v MP (Inner London Crown Court)
The defendant faced allegations of serious violence against a number of individual, using various weapons and committed over the course of a number of hours and in different locations. The case raised issues regarding the admissibility of partial/qualified identification.
