Anna has a busy general crime practice across the full spectrum of criminal offences as a junior and led junior.
Anna has a decade of experience in criminal law. She has defended in a wide range of criminal cases of high level of complexity, including terrorism, homicide, serious violence, public disorder, protest, sexual offences and fraud. Before joining chambers Anna worked as a Solicitor-Advocate at ITN solicitors where she appeared regularly in the Crown, Magistrates and Youth courts.
R v MP and other (2026) Harrow Crown Court
Operation backspace. Junior alone instructed for forth defendant on an 8-handed conspiracy to rob.
R v PD (2025) Cambridge Crown Court
Led junior by Bozzie Sheffi on a 25-count indictment relating to sexual offences against children. The trial spanned 6 weeks and involved detailed preparation of multiple complainants.
R v BK (2025) Harrow Crown Court
Suspended sentence for defendant in possession with intent to supply class A drugs case. The prosecution placed the offending in significant role. Following sentence, the prosecution did not seek POCA.
R v MB and 4 others (2025) Isleworth Crown Court
Led junior by Abigail Penny acting for defendant in an NCA investigation into the illegal transportation of people from the U.K to France. Five-handed conspiracy case involving extensive telephone data. The prosecution did not seek POCA.
R v PM (2025) Southwark Crown Court
Represented a vulnerable women of good character in a section 20 wounding case. Following negotiations during the trial, prosecution offered no evidence.
R v DA (2025) Kingston Crown Court
Man of good character acquitted of controlling and coercive behaviour and assault offences. The case involved sensitive cross-examination of the complaint following the prosecution application to declare her hostile.
R v CA Court of Appeal (Criminal Division) [2025] EWCA Crim 629
Represented the Appellant who sentence was varied on appeal from 8 years and 3 months’ imprisonment to 5 years and 4 months for a Robbery (Dwelling). The Court of Appeal quashed the finding of dangerous by the sentencing Judge.
The appellant was a youth at the time of the offence, having very recently turned 17. Leave was granted to appeal on five grounds: not enough weight was attached to the appellant’s age, that she was the victim of exploitation and a victim of modern slavery the sentencing judge did not follow the youth specific guideline for robbery and the starting point taken was too high.
R v JM (2025) Croydon Crown Court
Represented 19 year old acquitted of possession of a firearm and ammunition.
The case centred around CCTV evidence. The defendant was seen in the company of the co-defendant who was in possession of a bag carrying a firearm. It was alleged the defendant was acting in a joint enterprise to hide the bag to evade detection from police.
R v AR (2024) Woolwich Crown Court
Represented a vulnerable defendant accused of false imprisonment, threats to kill, common assault and assault emergency worker. Defendant acquitted of threats to kill and common assault and convicted on the remaining counts.
R v SN (2024) Wood Green Crown Court
Represented defendant accused of 2 counts of Rape. The case involved a successful application pursuant to s.41 YCJEA 1999, opposition to prosecution application to adduce bad character and extensive cross-examination of both complainants lasting two days.
R v SC (2024) Snaresbrook Crown Court
Defendant acquitted of ABH and criminal damage. Defendant acquitted on all counts. Following cross-examination of the complainant the prosecution offered no evidence to criminal damage and a successful submission of no case to answer on the ABH.
R v MW (2024) Kingston Crown Court
Historical sexual offences case, represented defendant accused of indecent assault. The case involved a successful application pursuant to s.41 YCJEA 1999 and cross-examination of the complainant.
R v AS (2024) Southampton Crown Court
Led junior by Fiona Clegg on eight count indictment of kidnap, threats to kill, rape, strangulation and threat to disclose private sexual photographs. Allegations spanned a two-month relationship. The prosecution’s case relied on extensive phone material and CCTV footage of the kidnap route, immediately prior to arrest. Not guilty verdict on all counts, following 22 minutes of deliberation.
R v OK (2023) Southwark Crown Court
Instructed for second defendant on 5 handed robbery and false identity indictment. 12 count indictment spanning three robberies of a sophisticated criminal gang. Negotiated guilty plea to lesser offences, resulting is substantially shorter prison sentence than the co-defendants.
R v NP (2022) Isleworth Crown Court
Defendant acquitted of affray and possession of a bladed article where a group set upon his property carrying weapons following a 5 day trial.
R v HW Court of Appeal, Criminal Division [2021] EWCA Crim 1511
Represented a Respondent after the Attorney-General referred his sentence of 18 month community order for harassment causing fear of violence. Successfully persuaded the Court not to impose an immediate term of imprisonment.
Anna has a developing inquest practice. She represents bereaved families in Article 2 and jury inquests and interested state parties.
Anna represents professionals at all stages of the professional disciplinary process. Anna has acted for regulated professionals before disciplinary and similar tribunals including the Nursing and Midwifery Council and the Health and Care Professions Council.

Represented the family at inquest into the death of their 18 year old son.

Represented family at inquest into the death of their father who died at hospital while under the detention of HMP Thameside.
NMC v VA (2025)
Presenting on behalf of the NMC in a misconduct case.
NMC v RH (2024)
Represented a nurse accused of using her community matron role to recruit patients to a care home she owned for her financial advantage.
HCPC v CL (2024)
Represented a physiotherapist accused of sexual misconduct and assault of a colleague. Case involved extensive cross-examination of complainant and professional witnesses. One allegation found not proven, all other matters found proved.
NMC v LM (2024)
Represented a nurse accused of dishonestly submitting her revalidation. The panel did not find the nurses conduct was fraudulent or dishonest. The panel were persuaded to take no action against the Registrant.
HCPC v DCC (2024)
Represented a psychologist accused of dishonestly using her protected title whilst unregistered.

Having worked as a Legal Officer at the Royal College of Nursing, Anna has a strong foundation in regulatory law. She has also represented a number of nurses charged with criminal offences allegedly committed in the course of their practice and developing her expertise on the intersection of healthcare and criminal law.
