15/11/2023

Ben Hargreaves, being led by Mark Gatley KC of Garden Court Chambers, defends Mr McIntosh one of three defendants accused of attempted murder. The trial began on 14 November 2023 at Birmingham CC before Mr Justice Sweeting and is expected to last for a month.

The trial involves a feud between two rival gangs that erupted in violence on the 1 May 2023 when a stolen car  was driven to a playground in the Bushbury area of Wolverhampton and the front seat passenger and driver discharged at least 6 rounds of ammunition  from two handguns at another gang. Two rounds hit an 11 and 15 year old child who were in the playground. A high speed car chase then followed with the pursuers shooting at the stolen car and blowing out the rear window before the pursuers crashed their car. The trial continues.
