Chambers is pleased to announce that the Irish Government has appointed Hugh O’Donoghue as a lay member to the Governing Council of CORU, the multi-professional health regulator, on 16 May 2025.
The Minister for Health, Jennifer Carroll McNeill TD, expressed her confidence in Hugh’s ability to make a significant and valuable contribution to the work of the Council and extended her best wishes on his appointment.
Hugh is widely recognised for his leadership experience at corporate and professional levels. He is an expert in the area of public law and regulation.
CORU’s statutory remit covers a broad range of health and social care professionals, including radiographers, social workers, opticians, psychologists, and medical scientists.
The Council is responsible for long-term sustainability of the organisation, its disciplinary committees, and the registration boards it oversees.
