Four Mountford barristers act in major duty evasion conspiracy

Mark Watson and James Lloyd, leading Shekyena Marcelle-Brown and Joseph Sinclair, act for the first and third defendants in a case involving conspiracy to fraudulently evade duty on millions of cigarettes.

The case relates to a series of arrests, raids and searches co-ordinated by HMRC in 2019. Over 2.5 million cigarettes were recovered.

The case is scheduled to last five weeks.
