News & Insights
I am incredibly proud to lead the Crime Team in Mountford Chambers together with Will England and Fiona Clegg.
Mountford has great strength in depth across the board, from our pupils right through to our team of QC’s. We provide a high quality service in all criminal courts, from the Magistrates through the Crown Courts and the Court of Appeal.
We select our pupils with utmost care to ensure they have the potential to develop into fine advocates whilst representing the true ethos of our chambers – to provide high standards of advocacy and client care.
Whilst we primarily receive instructions to defend in criminal cases, a number of members also prosecute for the CPS and we undertake private prosecutions.
On 7th June 2022 we moved into our new premises at 13 Ely Place. While a lot of chambers continue to work from virtual offices we decided that a building enhances our solidity as a set of chambers. We are all very excited to have our own building that we can call ‘Home’. It is a place where we can meet up, socialise with our colleagues, pass on experiences and continue to foster our happy and welcoming environment.
We plan to hold a series of lectures in Chambers in the Autumn so please keep an eye on our website for details of topics, dates and times.
In the meantime, to whet your appetite, we hope that you find the articles contained in this newsletter interesting and informative. We wish you all a happy summer and look forward to seeing you in 13 Ely Place soon. Alan Kent QC, Will England and Fiona Clegg.
