Charley Weldrick secured the acquittal of his client who was charged with PWITS B after 1.8 kilograms of cannabis, much of which was weighed into wholesale deals, was found in his flat during a police raid.
Following a s78 made by Charley in respect of identification evidence to be given by an officer who claimed to recognise the defendant, the Crown was forced to rely on descriptions by officers of an individual seen in the property during the raid who managed to flee the scene. The defendant was acquitted by a majority of the jurors following three hours and 28 minutes of deliberations.
