Ben Hargreaves acted for a senior manager employed by a large local authority who was responsible for children’s services and welfare. EM faced an allegation of assault by beating which, if proven, would have led to immediate dismissal. The prosecution relied heavily on CCTV footage said to show EM assaulting a security officer over a significant period of time. The evidence was robustly challenged and resulted in an acquittal for the defence.
The case was expertly prepared by Henrietta Ronson and Joseph Green of Corker Binning.
