Ben Brown’s Client Acquitted of Rape and Assault By Penetration after Trial at Reading Crown Court

29/10/2025

Ben Brown’s client, a serving soldier in the British Army, was acquitted of rape and assault by penetration following a four-day trial at Woolwich Crown Court.

The case involved complex Bad Character and s.41 Youth Justice and Criminal Evidence Act 1999 considerations. Following detailed and meticulous preparation, Ben was able to make use of discrepancies in the accounts provided by witnesses on behalf of the Crown, to critically undermine the Crown’s case.

Ben was instructed by Bawita Dhanda of Martin Murray & Associates.
