Ben Brown Secures Suspended Sentence in UK Civil Aviation Authority Prosecution Against An Aviation Security Training Instructor

08/12/2025

The Defendant was an aviation security training instructor who pleaded guilty to forgery at Birmingham Crown Court, following an investigation led by the UK Civil Aviation Authority.

The Defendant falsified 85 training certificates and training records for security operatives whilst working at Birmingham International Airport.

Ben advanced mitigation to contextualise the offending behaviour and harm, notwithstanding the significant abuse of trust in the commission of the offence. The judge was persuaded to impose a sentence of two years suspended for two years. Ben was instructed by Khizar Hyatt of Greens Solicitors.
