Anthony James’ client was acquitted of two counts of sexual assault and one count of encouraging or assisting rape following a ten-day trial at Woolwich Crown Court.
Anthony’s client was alleged to have encouraged the complainant to get into his car before sexually assaulting her. Further, his client was alleged to have assisted in the rape of the complainant by one of his co-defendants. The client’s defence was a mixture of factual denial and consent. The case involved sensitive cross-examination of a vulnerable complainant and cross-examination of the two co-defendants.
Anthony was instructed by Karamjit Singh of Holborn Law.
