Anthony James represented a police officer accused of controlling and coercive behaviour over an 18-month period towards his girlfriend, who was also a police officer at the time.
The case involved the analysis of over 18,000 WhatsApp messages served as unused material. Anthony used that material to undermine the Crown’s case that alleged multiple different forms of controlling and coercive conduct.
The jury returned its not guilty verdict in under an hour, maintaining the client’s good character.
Anthony was instructed by Mark Riley of MJR Solicitors.
