Anjelica Smerin, Anna Wright and Oscar Robins Accept Offers of Tenancy

Mountford Chambers is delighted to announce that Anjelica Smerin, Anna Wright and Oscar Robins have accepted tenancy offers following the successful completion of their pupillages.

Anjelica is developing a busy defence practice in the Magistrates’ Court and Crown Court. She has been successful in cases involving complex legal arguments including modern slavery and hearsay arguments. During her pupillage, she was awarded an Ann Goddard scholarship from Gray’s Inn and was the runner up in the Kalisher Essay Prize competition.

Anna is developing a wide practice with an interest in a range of criminal matters including drug offences and serious violence. She is instructed in both the Magistrates’ Court and the Crown Court, with a particular focus on representing youth clients where modern slavery is raised. Alongside her professional endeavours, Anna volunteers as a Pod Leader at Bridging the Bar a charity supporting underrepresented aspiring barristers.

Oscar has enjoyed a busy practice in the Magistrates’, Youth, and Crown Courts. He has undertaken work for several senior members of Chambers, including assisting Edward Henry KC in drafting grounds of appeal against conviction and conducting research on DNA evidence in firearms cases. Alongside pupillage, Oscar has continued to sit as the Chair of the Independent Review Panel on School Exclusions for Essex County Council.
