Alphege Bell, leading Chloe Lennon, acted for the second of two defendants both charged with being concerned in the fraudulent importation of a class A drug following approximately 140 kilograms of cocaine (with a street value of up to £14 million) being found in banana pallets imported from the Dominican Republic to Portsmouth International Port.
Alphege and Chloe’s client was arrested at the unit the banana pallets were being delivered to, while unpacking said pallets. The case involved extensive cell site evidence and messages between both defendants relating to Class A drugs.
At the conclusion of the two-week trial at Isleworth Crown Court, the jury found Alphege and Chloe’s client not guilty. The first defendant was found guilty.
Alphege and Chloe were instructed and assisted by Ben Darabi of Carson Kaye Solicitors.
