Anna’s client was acquitted following a week-long trial at Isleworth Crown Court.
The case involved an altercation between neighbours in the early hours of the morning on a quiet residential street. The prosecution case was that the defendant had initiated the incident, during which the complainant sustained a broken nose. A further disturbance later developed on the street, involving a group of around 10 people.
Anna challenged the reliability of the identification evidence and was able to demonstrate significant failings in the police investigation. The jury returned not guilty verdict after 17 minutes of deliberations.
Anna was instructed by Niall Shiels or Imran Khan & Partners.
